Charts Japan: JRPGs and FIFA 23 are embedded in the Top 10 - News

After the comet DioField Chronicle last week (12,000 copies), it’s another Square Enix JRPG that passes like a shadow in the charts, especially if we refer to its illustrious history.

Credited with 40,360 sales, Valkyrie Elysium logically starts less well than all its predecessors, whether it’s the original game on PSone (311,630 units in 1999, for a total of 660,000 copies), its sequel on PS2 (302,867 units, for a total of 400,000) or even spin off on Nintendo DS (73,779 units for 150,000 on arrival). Generations follow and renew each other, and the promise of an Action-RPG on home consoles comes up against the reality of the current market.

Another JRPG in view on September 29, The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki II -CRIMSON SiN- continues to attract around 50,000 players, like the previous episode, a sign that the heart of the target remains present at the exit, even if the we are far from the performances recorded at the time of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, which gathered close to 150,000 players upon release, at least for the first three parts. For their part, restocking for Dragon Quest X Offline allows the Switch version to see its sales increase from one week to another, without breaking the ceiling.

A last word finally on FIFA 23, which achieves 21,000 units on PS4, 11,800 sales on Switch in its Legacy version, and 7,400 copies on PS5.
