From a report, scientists from the European Space Agency (ESA) revealed what the process of the end of the Sun’s activity will be like, as well as the estimated time of this event. According to specialists, the star is in its main sequence phase, that is, where the core manages to transform hydrogen into helium, which generates energy expressed in the form of brightness and heat.

According to data from ESA’s Gaia space probe, this period will take place between 10,000 and 11,000 million years, the time when the Sun reaches the end of its life (or the end of its main sequence).

Thus, at the end of this stage, the Sun would have raised its temperature, becoming a giant red star. Finally, after this phase it will become a dim white dwarf.

It should be noted that our Solar System is about 4.5 billion years old, which means that our Sun is in its half-life.

A deadly rise in temperature

Near its end, the heat will increase to such an extent that it would make the Earth an uninhabitable planet for human life, since the high temperatures would evaporate the water.

But this would only happen within about 8,000 million years, say scientists. At this point, they add, the Sun will have increased in size by 10 percent from its current size, which would lead to such a deadly temperature increase for the human species.
