The Overwatch 2 Halloween Event It’s still a long way off, but we already know a little about what to expect from the spooky celebrations of the first season. Junkenstein’s Revenge: The Bride’s Wrath will pick up on the popular event from the first Overwatch game, but with new characters, skins, and an updated mode to try out.
It’s been a pretty bumpy launch for Overwatch 2 with long lines (opens in a new tab) and a lot of confusion when providing Telephone numbers (opens in a new tab) to play the game. But by the time Halloween eve rolls around and the event begins, things will hopefully have settled down. In this Overwatch 2 Halloween event guide, I’ll go over when the festivities start, which characters will be able to play in the special game mode, and who will be getting spooky new skins.
When does the Overwatch 2 Halloween event start?
The Overwatch 2 event Junkenstein’s Revenge: The Bride’s Wrath takes place from October 25 – November 8. In the first game, this annual Halloween event added a variety of seasonal skins, and a special four-player PvE mode, but it looks like Blizzard is changing things up a bit in its new iteration.
The official battle pass blog post (opens in a new tab) mentions a new Junkenstein event “Wrath of the Bride”. If the accompanying screen is any help, it looks like players will be venturing into some kind of haunted castle or gloomy crypt to fight the Zomnics instead of the Adlersbrunn map of years past. Sombra will also appear as the big villain. There are no exact details yet on what the mode will entail, but it will most likely be a cooperative PvE activity.
Overwatch 2 Halloween Event: Playable Characters
The four playable characters in Overwatch 2’s Halloween event mode will be Sojourn, Junker Queen, KirikoY ashe. You can see them all in the trailer for the first season. Presumably you won’t have to unlock the characters through the battle pass (opens in a new tab) first to be able to use them in event mode, but that has yet to be confirmed. Luckily it’s pretty easy unlock heroes (opens in a new tab) like Junker Queen and Sojourn as they are free.
Overwatch 2 Halloween Event: Skins
The three new heroes of the first season are undoubtedly the ones who will receive new skins in the Overwatch 2 Halloween event. Sojourn appears to be a futuristic film noir detective, Junker Queen is dressed as some kind of character from the wastelands/Mad Max, while Kiriko she has a witch skin. They were all shown off in the Battle Pass blog post, but Ashe is also likely getting a new skin. In the first season trailer (opens in a new tab)you can see Kiriko’s witch skin in action, but it also shows Ashe in a different looking outfit when showing the event dates.
