The GeForce RTX 3060 evolves discreetly with the adoption of GDDR6X video memory. An early model has been spotted at a retailer selling OEM parts to Lenovo.
There have been rumors that Nvidia would consider upgrading its GeForce RTX 3060. For the past few days, this file has taken an official turn. A UK retailer has hinted that a GDDR6X-equipped GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Founders Edition will be available soon.
The information is partly confirmed thanks to a Slovak retailer. It mentions a GeForce RTX 3060 12GB GDDR6X for “Lenovo”. This suggests that Nvidia is evolving not its RTX 3060 Ti but its family of GeForce RTX 3060 series.
The upgrade concerns the adoption of GDDR6X memory chip. It is therefore necessary to hope for higher frequencies at the origin of a higher bandwidth. The specifications listed by the Slovak retailer mention a boost frequency of 1.78 GHz and a thermal envelope of 170W. We must be careful since we find the same data as those of the GeForce RTX 3060 GDDR6 from Lenovo. It is possible that this is an error because such an evolution of the VRAM is supposed to be accompanied by an increase in the thermal envelope.
